Free Games - For Real!
I was recently looking for some free downloadable computer games to use on a computer I have with no internet access. I found some web pages that stated "there is no such thing as a free computer game to download" ... well, I disagree. So I started this web page.
Yes, finding truly free stuff is rare and unusual, but it is out there. I've just made your life a little easier by showing you where. I'll try to add to this as I find stuff.

FREE GAMES: If you are looking for completely free, downloadable computer games, I have found a couple of great sites for you! No special programs to download, no ads, no "trials", ... just free full-version fun and addictive games. I'm a Match 3 , Mahjong and other Puzzles fan (short for FANATIC!), and have also lately gotten into Hidden Object games, so those are the ones I've tried, but they also have Arcade, Adventure, Racing, Sport, Breakout, Space, Action, Etc. Games. There are also a bunch of games you can play online, too.
Now, what I really hate is when you download a "free game" and find out it is really a trial version, not full (even though they try to mislead you as much as possible.. what's with that!), but that won't happen at these wonderful free game sites:
First, go to GAMETOP.COM and click on the "Download Free Games" Link near the top (or just go here for all downloadable games), then check out the categories you prefer. You can also play games online, they have a separate page for those games.
This is the ONLY place I have found to be 100% free, with no downloader, no toolbars, etc.
If you like Match 3 type puzzle games, try Around the World in 80 Days, it's a good one! And Treasure Puzzle is a very addictive slider.
If you have Wii, they even have online games for you!
Keep checking back, because the do add new games. When I wrote this, they didn't have any hidden object games yet, but maybe they will soon!
Second, try MYPLAYCITY.COM, which does have some great Hidden Object Games ; I've tried the Mystery of Unicorn Castle and the new Spirit of Wandering hidden object games, which were both quite enjoyable and visually stunning. They put up new games frequently.
This place has a toolbar download that you must accept to use the game. Since I play offline, this hasn't effected me at all, but I don't know if it might be a pain for someone online.
They have a wide variety of great games, (brain teasers, word games, board games, games for girls, kid's games, simulation, shooting, etc.) as well as online games including MMORPG and other multi player games.

I've had no problems downloading from these sites and transferring to another computer. I highly recommend them for fun and free gaming!

9/28/09: I found this great site today: Christian Centered Gamer (ccgr.org) which has a couple of free games pages. They also have lots of other downloads, like patches, demos, movies, music and shareware.

There is another place to get free games. I wasn't impressed with the games, they seem to be outdated, but you may find some you like. There are plenty to choose from. They are mostly action and arcade type games, it seems, and I don't play those types much. Go to FREEWARE GAMES to see what they have and decide for yourself. The ones on that page are all freeware, no trials, no time limits, no special downloader. They also have games to purchase on their site, of course.
