the structural, aesthetic, and drivetrain components needed to perform

Fat-Axx Swingarm Kit for Softails by Zodiac.
When the latest extreme wide tires were introduced, everybody had a problem.
How can one fit a 250 or up to 280 in a stock Softail frame? Simple, that's
where Zodiac comes in. Zodiac's Ton Pels designed a complete extra wide
swingarm kit that includes a "no jig needed" frame widening
kit as well as the primary offset kit that allows the use of up to 280
tires in stock and most aftermarket frames. The frame widening is done
with a 15mm (0.590") thick replacement banana shaped frame side plate
that has 25mm (0.984") or 35 mm (1.377") offset. The banana
shape side plate has to be welded in place using the original banana plate
as the welding jig. Due to the location of the engine/transmission of
the Evolution models in the frame against the Twin Cam models (10mm/0.393"
difference), the 25mm (0.984") offset in the frame plate, in combination
with our 45mm (1.772") primary offset kit provides enough room for
up to 250 series rear tires in Evolution Softail frames, and 280 series
rear tires in Twin Cam Softail frames.
The complete kit contains a swingarm, offset banana frame side plate
and a very complete primary offset kit. Primary offset kit includes primary
spacer ring with support bearing, crankshaft extension, extension nut,
primary gasket kit, extended main shaft, extended main drive gear, offset
front pulley, extended starter motor coupler with extended bolt and all
extended primary bolts with locking plates. The OEM brake caliper can
be re-used, and tabs for the belt guard are welded in place. The kits
for Evolution Softail must be used with a Twin Cam type 1-1/8" wide,
135 tooth final belt and a 70 tooth 1-1/8" wide pulley. When installing
this kit in a 1991 thru 1993 model, a late style countershaft 5th gear
must be ordered separately.
Note: We strongly recommend a craftsman or certified
welder does the welding of the side plate.

Super Wide Swingarm & Swingarm Kit for Twin Cam Softails
- Zodiac
Due to the
construction of the engine and transmission set-up of the Twin Cam
Softail, it is
not possible to offset the transmission to make
room for 200 or bigger tires. The Wide and Extra Wide swingarm
kits enable you to mount up to a 250 monster tire in your stock Softail. The
Wide swingarm kit will accept 200mm tires on a 6-1/2" rim using the stock
belt. The Extra Wide swingarm takes 230mm wide tires on 8" or 8-1/2"
if the wheel is slightly offset to the right or a final chain drive is
used. Kit
contains a swingarm with wheel axle, a complete 12mm (0.472") or 25mm (0.984")
primary offset kit, including primary spacer ring, crankshaft extension
and extension nut, primary gasket kit, extended transmission main shaft
and main drive gearing, extended starter motor coupling and extended
primary bolts. Our trick caliper bracket enables you to use the stock
rear caliper. For 230 tires on a 15" steel rim, a small modification
of the OEM caliper may be needed, 15" cast or billet wheels require the
use of a custom rear caliper and 10" disc brake rotor. Tabs
for the belt guard are welded in place.
NOTE: Do
to the variety of wheels, fenders, fender struts and wheel spacers

PRIMARY
OFFSET KITS FOR 5 & 6 SPEED MODELS
INCLUDING DYNA TWIN-CAM & SOFTAIL TWIN-CAM - Zodiac
Contrary
to Evolution models it is not possible to move the transmission on
Twin-Cam models to the left as these models have the transmission
bolted to the crankcase. The Zodiac off-set kit enables you to move
your primary 12 or 25 mm without moving your stock or aftermarket
5 Speed transmission, or 25 mm when you have a 6 Speed Zodiac transmission
or conversion. The kit comes with an extended transmission main shaft
and extended transmission main drive 5th gear, leaving the transmission
housing in exactly the same place but allowing you to offset the
front final drive pulley 12 mm or 25 mm, thus creating space for
a wide rear tire. And when we say wide we mean WIDE. The 12 mm off-set
kit allows the use of a 200 tire with the stock belt in an Evolution
or Twin-Cam frame, the 25 mm offset kit
allows a 230 wide tire on a 7.50 rim in both the Evolution and Twin-Cam
frame if the late type “narrow” final drive belt drive is used.
If a chain is used for the final drive the stock frames will accept up
to 250 wide tires on a 9.00” rim. The transmission main shaft and
main drive gear are CNC manufactured by one of the worlds leading automotive
transmission factories. The material selected is a High Stress 20CrMnT
gear steel. Gear and shaft are tempered and stress released to a core hardness
of 35 to 45 Rockwell and have a surface hardness of 58 to 60 Rockwell.
Our offset primary kits contain: primary
spacer ring, extended crankshaft extension and extended crankshaft nut,
extended transmission main shaft, extended main drive 5th gear with needle
bearings and seal, extended belt pulley spacer, extended clutch push rod,
extended starter jack shaft (only for 25 mm kit), starter jack spacer,
primary-to-transmission spacers and all required hardware. When you have
a 1991 thru 1993 model 5 Speed transmission you must order a countershaft
5th gear, extended starter jack shaft bolt and late style final drive pulley
separately. Wide swingarm and fender struts must
be
ordered separately.
